Little
Moreton Hall (National Trust ) - Congleton, Cheshire |
|
If you are in the vicinity of Little Moreton Hall , why not pay it a visit?
You will get the true feeling of ancient gardening features going back to the
beginning of garden history: the mound, the moat, the knot garden. They are
all filled with magic importance from days long before Christ - if you only
set your mind to take it in. I must admit, I don't ordinary like
overmuch to get inside the houses attached to the gardens, they are so
stuffed with dusty things, but at Little Moreton Hall there is sort of a
serene feeling of very old times bygone in a few rustic interiors. It's
worthwhile to sit for a moment in one of these old chambers. (Pictures are
from the Summer 1996) |
