Tulipa violacea

This fantastic tulip flowered 8 years after I planted the seeds – from RHS seed exchange, and then the label was lost!

Can it be T.sprengeri ?

At the very corner below the climbing rose thrives Euonymus fortunei 'Blondy, Coreopsis verticillata, Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea' (Creeping Jenny)  and a lateflowering lilium - for the colour- contrast: "A smash in the eye!" The 'Blondy' gives colour during the whole winter.

This was what the kitchen yard was meant for: My daughter-in-law preparing a crayfish-party in August - with funny hats and the lot!
